Summary for the week of 25Aug06.
Went to Best Buy to exchange a camcorder. Had to apply on line. Went to Border's and Walmart, again, had to apply online.
A brief summary for the week of 18Aug06. (exactly one week since the layoff)
Monday: I called the unemployment office to file for unemployment insurance, there was a heavy volume of telephone traffic all day and I couldn't get through. As far as looking for work, I rode my bicycle by a welding shop on my way to the store. American Welding, I put an application in there last year when I was layed off. Later that evening I worked on my epinions profile page.
Tuesday: Got through to the unemployment office about 2pm. Shouldn't be denied this time. (I had to go to war to get my shit last year when I was layed off, it's all on record in the Permanent Grudge List
Wednesday: My wife brought me in an advertisement for Smith's Marketplace. They want the application done online. Fine with me.
Thursday: My good friend T and his old lady suddenly arrived back in town. Unfortunately things didn't work out for him in Vegas at that airplane flying school. It was his dream to pilot an airplane. Problems with his visa or something.
I've been getting emails from him, but he hasn't called so I jump on my bike and ride down to where he works at the U-Haul. Man he got a job fast. So while we're catchin' up, I ask him about any openings there. Another file your application online place. Again, fine with me, a contact's a contact as far as I'm concerned. Application rejected due to driver's license issues in OK.
I'll probably wind up going through a temp agency when it's all said and done though.
